Jeff Berry
Dr. Jeff Berry graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1992, and completed a speciality in Canine and Feline Practice in 1997. He began his career on Vancouver Island and then ran a busy small animal clinic in Ontario for twenty years, before finally returning to the island, starting Tofino Vet Clinic in 2020. His special interests include Ultrasound, Endoscopy and Cancer Treatment. He enjoys hiking and camping with his wife Rhonda, and flat-coated retriever Rosie. He is avid fisherman, novice surfer (who tries to catch waves with his four daughters when they visit Tofino).

Rhonda MacDonald
Rhonda MacDonald graduated from Brescia University College in 1992 with a BA in Sociology and English. She helped manage a busy small animal clinic in Ontario with her husband, Jeff Berry, while raising their four daughters. After realizing the need in the community for veterinary services, she and her husband started in the Tofino Vet Clinic in 2020. Initially offering house-call services, they opened the clinic at 615 Campbell Street in 2021. She enjoys travelling and hiking with her husband Jeff and their four daughters, and snuggling with her cats, George and Maude.

Sara Bittner
Sara is a Registered Veterinary Technician who graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Olds College in Olds, Alberta with distinction in 2023. Originally from the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Sara has experience with small and large animals, exotics and working dogs. She has extensive experience working with sled dogs, has a passion for rescue animals and Canadian wildlife. Before graduating AHT and coming to Tofino Vet in 2023, Sara obtained a certificate in Veterinary medical reception at Olds College and worked as a veterinary assistant in a small animal emergency clinic in Calgary, Alberta since 2020, as well as volunteering at her local animal humane society. Sara is Fear Free certified in small animal and equine patients.

Sara enjoys spending her time outdoors exploring the west coast with her 11-year-old Alaskan Husky, Arnette, who is a retired sled dog.

Sarah Phillips
Sarah is a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) originally from the UK. She earned her degree in Veterinary Nursing in 2022 and worked as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) in the UK before making the exciting move to Canada. After registering as an RVT in Alberta, Sarah gained valuable experience working in a veterinary clinic nestled in the Rocky Mountains. Having grown up by the ocean, she decided to swap the mountains for the ocean and recently relocated to Tofino to continue her veterinary career by the coast.

With a strong passion for emergency care, Sarah is committed to furthering her education. She is currently completing a UK-based certificate in Emergency and Critical Care, ensuring she can provide the highest standard of care for her patients.

When she's not working, Sarah enjoys exploring the stunning beaches of Tofino and is learning to surf. While she doesn't have pets of her own, she gets her fix by giving extra attention to the animals at work. Sarah is excited to be part of the Tofino community and looks forward to meeting all the wonderful pets and owners in the area.

Together our team of veterinary technicians, veterinarians and support staff is providing a level of anesthetic care for our patients that is exceptional. Recently we upgraded our anesthesia machines and monitors to technology comparable to that used at BC Children's Hospital... Read more

Rosie Berry
Rosie Berry graduated obedience school shortly after joining the Berry family in 2018. She grew up swimming in Lake Huron, and every lake, river and creek she could find. Rosie moved to BC with her family in 2019, and slowly got used to the taste of salt water. She swims twice daily at various beaches in Tofino, and can often be found running alongside Jeff in various trails across town.
